Backstory
The nickname "The Gate Guardian" is not exactly an honorable one. Valeta, who was responsible for overseeing the novice nuns at the Aradal Snow Mountain Convent, was known for excessively controlling the novices, often found guarding the door. Out of resentment for her strict rules, the novice nuns gave her the nickname The Gate Guardian."
When the Rift Crisis began and they moved to Earth, Valeta returned to active duty, fighting on the front lines. She devoted herself to protecting the novice knight-nuns, and the nickname "Guardian of the Gate" gained much more honor compared to before.
After arriving on Earth, the order no longer recruited new knight-nuns, leading Valeta to hope to serve as a Vanguard under the Human God.

Valeta is one of the strongest all-rounder units in the game, combining high damage, tankiness, and exceptional healing. She's capable of soloing most content thanks to her powerful AoE damage, massive shields, and top-tier healing—making her an excellent choice, especially for Dopamine battles.
Valeta builds up to her full potential by stacking 9 [Judgment] layers through basic attacks, which enhances her Magic Attack and unlocks her ultimate damage (unlike lisandria she does'nt lose her stacks so you only have to do it once per game). Just 3 layers unlock her ultimate, Condemning Angel, which delivers up to 3 enhanced AOE attacks per turn (4 if she counter attack).
Manual play is highly recommended to properly stack and time skills. Her AI is decent, but it doesn’t stack passives efficiently and can struggle in fights against multiple counterattacking enemies.
Her survivability is phenomenal As long as she’s not one-shot, even at 1 HP, a single basic attack can heal her back to over 90% HP.
When building Valeta, there are two strong options:
- Full Damage Build: Focus on Magic Attack main stats to maximize damage, shielding, and healing. Equip her with the Eternal Battle Set:
- 2-Piece Bonus: Increases Magic Attack by 10% during combat
- 4-Piece Bonus: If 3 or more enemies are hit at once, increases Magic Attack by 35% for 3 rounds
- High-Movement Build: Ideal for solo Dopamine clears where speed and turn economy matter. This build offers ~20% less damage/healing compared to Eternal Battle but increases speed and AP recovery, giving her more frequent turns. If you go this route, make sure to keep her HP at 100% before the turn ends to activate the AP recovery bonus, granting her on aerage 1 extra basic attack per turn.
Reckoning Of Sin — the new Spec Ops set — grants Valeta increased AP Recovery by 4% during combat.
4-piece bonus: At the start of combat, gain 30 AP.
On a successful hit, it inflicts [Price Of Sin], which reduces the target’s Elemental DEF by 200. This effect ends when the target is hit again.
This new set provides Valeta with a slight damage increase, ranging from +5% to +10% overall DPS compared to the fully end-game Eternal Battle set. The exact boost depends on your Valeta build, enemy type, and her dupes/weapons dupes.
However, the trade-off is that Valeta receives less healing and thinner shields with this set. So, your choice depends on your playstyle:
- For higher damage and comfortable healing/shields, the Eternal Battle set remains the best.
- For faster rotations and quicker stacking of Judgment stacks with less damage, healing, and shields, the The Wind that Wanders the World set is your go-to option.
- The Reckoning Of Sin set offers higher DPS but with less healing and shields than Eternal Battle, and provides faster rotations though not as fast as The Wind that Wanders the World set.
For Sub Stats: Magic Attack > AP recovery > Max HP > Anything else.
Recommended Teams
Valeta truly doesn’t need any teammates to clear most stages, especially when there’s no pressure to finish them quickly. Her solo potential shines in longer battles or stages where the number of turns doesn't affect rewards. In those cases, her durability, self-sustain, and powerful AOE damage can carry the fight with ease. However, if you want to make her easier to play or stack [Judgment] stacks more safely, pairing her with a strong shielder or healer can help reduce incoming damage during setup. Here are some great teammates that synergize well with her playstyle:
