Welcome to our comprehensive Stella Sora team composition guide!
In Stella Sora, elemental synergy is the key to building powerful teams and maximizing your overall damage output.
The game features six core elements:
- 🏔️Terra – Earth/Nature
- 🔥 Ignis – Fire
- 🌪️ Ventus – Wind
- 💧 Aqua – Water
- ✨ Lux – Light
- 🌑 Umbra – Dark
Every enemy or boss usually comes with two elemental vulnerabilities and one resistance, which makes choosing the right team extremely important — especially as you progress through the tougher stages. While you can brute force the early game with any mix of characters, the mid and late game content demands more optimized setups.
Building a mono-element team (a team focused on one element) will help you deal consistent and high damage to enemies with elemental disadvantage .
The good news is that Stella Sora is fairly generous with its team flexibility — since most enemies have two vulnerabilities, you can often reuse units across different elemental teams.
To help you plan your builds, make sure to check out our [Stella Sora Tier List] for recommendations on which characters perform best as main carries and which ones excel as supports before investing resources into the wrong skills or roles.
In this guide, we’ll break down recommended team compositions for each element, along with strong alternatives you can use depending on your roster and playstyle. Keep in mind that you can mix characters from other elements as supports to take advantage of enemy or boss elemental vulnerabilities for better results.
Aqua teams

Best Aqua Team – Chitose Core
The core of this team revolves around Chitose, currently considered the strongest DPS in the game. She has an exceptionally wide AoE range, and her basic attacks reach surprisingly far for a melee unit.
Her active skill, support skill, and ultimate all apply Aqua Marks on enemies while also inflicting the Chill effect, which reduces enemy movement speed. After stacking three Chill effects, enemies become frozen for 3 seconds, something Chitose can trigger easily thanks to her high attack rate and multi-hit skills.
🔹 Support 1 – Freesia
Freesia is the best support partner for Chitose. Her support skill creates a field that deals AoE Aqua damage and spreads Aqua Mark Stream on enemies. When Aqua Trekkers attack marked enemies, it triggers additional AoE damage and applies Coldon them.
The best part of Freesia’s kit is her Ultimate, which lets her enter
Berserker Mode, boosting her attack and making her join Chitose on the field
to automatically attack nearby enemies.
If you don’t have Chitose, you can even run
Freesia as your main DPS — she’s that versatile.
🔹 Support 2 – Teressa or Iris
For your second support, Teressa is the best 4★ option. She provides a shield that scales with her attack, protecting your main DPS. and With dupes, she becomes one of the best Aqua supports in the game , enhancing your main carry's skill damagewhenever her shield is active, and teamwide attack power, Aqua and skill damage icnrease.
If you don’t have Teressa, you can replace her with Iris, a free character that’s surprisingly solid. Iris also applies Aqua Mark Stream and has a decent wide AoE ultimate. With dupes, she can increase team attack after using her ultimate and a chance to further boost the whole team's attack when triggering skill damage. On top of that her personal damage also scales well with her dupes.
🔸 Alternative DPS – Shimiao
If you’re missing Chitose or Freesia, Shimiao is a great alternative 4★ main carry. While she’s not as powerful as the two 5★ units, she’s easy to dupe and delivers respectable damage, making her one of the strongest 4★ DPS options for Aqua teams.

Terra teams

Best Terra Team – Gerie Core
The best Terra team centers around Gerie, who is currently the strongest Earth main carry and one of the most powerful units in the standard banner. She has somewhat short-range basic attacks, but her skill lets her leap forward to strike a single target hard while also damaging nearby enemies.
Upon landing, Gerie creates an Iron Cage that links two nearby enemies, dealing damage every second for 8 seconds. When Gerie stands near her own Iron Cage, she enters a "Lethal" state that increases her basic attack damage by 30%. This skill also triggers Terra Mark on enemies, detonating it for powerful area damage.
Her Ultimate is a massive AoE nuke that damages all enemies in her path and also triggers Terra Marks for additional burst damage.
🔹 Support 1 – Nazuna
Nazuna is the best support for Terra teams, though her kit includes a bit of RNG. She throws plushies that can either deal AoE Terra damage or heal the main carry with her heart plushies that also explode and deal damage. Both types of plushies apply Terra Marks on enemies.
Depending on which plushies dominate the field, your team gains different buffs: if there are more penguin plushies, the team’s attack increases; if there are more heart plushies, the team gains a Terra damage boost.
Nazuna’s Ultimate deals AoE Terra damage and applies Terra Marks to enemies. After it ends, the team receives a significant attack buff, making her a perfect partner for Gerie.
🔹 Support 2 – Ridge
The final slot can be filled by Ridge, currently the only other Terra unit available. She provides decent AoE damage, applies Terra Marks and Earth Veins for your team. and With dupes, Ridge can also increase the entire team’s attack, further boosting the team overall performance.

Ignis teams

Best Ignis Team- Chixia & Flora Core
As of now, there are no 5★ on-field Fire (Ignis) units, but Amber stands out as the best main carry for this element. She’s a free 4★ character with impressive long-range attacks, and her damage potential scales extremely well with dupes. At max investment, Amber becomes a top-tier DPS option capable of clearing most content with the right supports.
🔹 Support 1 – Chixia
Chixia is one of the strongest off-field damage dealers in the game. Her crimson dragon summons deal significant AoE Fire damage without needing her to stay on the field, making her an ideal support for any fire carry. She provides consistent passive DPS and excellent synergy in mono-Ignis teams.
🔹 Support 2 – Flora
Flora is arguably the best 4★ support in the game. She boosts your main carry’s Crit Rate and Crit Damage while also contributing extra Fire damage herself. These buffs scale even higher with dupes, making her an incredible value for fire and other teams aswell.
If you don’t have Amber, Kasimira can also fill the role of your main carry. While she’s weaker at lower dupe levels, she becomes a decent alternative with more copies. You can also use Chixia as an on-field DPS if you want, but note that your team will lose some total damage output since the current Ignis roster lacks strong off-field support units.

Ventus Team

Nanoha is the core of all Ventus teams and one of my most enjoyable characters to play since the first beta. She’s extremely beginner-friendly, performs well on auto, and can be used as both a main DPS or a support. Her clones and sunflower shurikens deal consistent damage even when she’s off-field, making her a flexible choice for any setup. If you prefer not to play her on-field, or you don't like her clones can still carry the team effectively.
🔹 Support 1 – Ann
Ann is the best support for Ventus teams. She summons a wind wall that blocks incoming attacks, boosts her teammates’ attack, and deals AoE damage. With dupes, her buffs become even stronger—enhancing your main trekker’s skill damage, attack, and Ventus damage. At Potential 5, she increases the entire team’s skill damage. She’s also a free unit, making her a must-build 4* support.
🔹 Support / Main – Noya
Noya is a solid free starter character. While she’s overshadowed by Nanoha as a main carry, she still provides reliable off-field skill damage and performs well in melee combat. If you prefer close-range playstyles, she’s a fun and viable main option for early content.
🔹 Support 2 – Canace
Canace is a strong off-field support that enhances team DPS by summoning a wind halo around your main trekker, dealing constant damage. Her ultimate summons cyclones that deal AoE Ventus damage, and when hitting enemies, these cyclones increase the team’s attack when unlocking her dupes, her buffs also become even stronger—especially if your main carry already has her halo active, granting an additional attack boost for the whole team.

Lux Team

Lux teams are currently dominated by Minova, the first Light-type carry in the game. She’s a powerful melee damage dealer who shines in early and mid-game content. However, due to her short attack range and vulnerability to damage, she tends to fall behind in endgame stages compared to other 5★ units. Despite that, Minova remains one of the strongest options for new players and an essential pick for early progression.
🔹 Support 1 – Tilia
The best Lux support is Tilia, who excels at stunning enemies while increasing the entire team’s Attack. With her dupes unlocked, she further boosts Ultimate Damage and Skill Damage for the whole team, making her a must-have support for Minova or any future Lux carry.
🔹 Support 2 – Jinglin
Jinglin is another solid support option. She applies Lux Marks to enemies and summons a Qilin spirit with her Ultimate that deals continuous damage. With her first dupe unlocked, Jinglin also grants an Attack boost to all allies, making her a valuable addition to any Lux setup.
🔸 Alternative DPS – Laru
Laru is an excellent alternative if you don’t have Minova. She’s versatile enough to act as both a main carry and a support. Laru performs very well in the early game but falls off heavily in the late game. Still, she’s worth investing in early on and can later transition into a support role once you obtain Minova or a stronger Lux DPS. If you already own Minova, however, you can safely skip building Laru, as current Lux supports offer far more team utility.
Example Lux Team Compositions

Umbra Team

Umbra teams are currently dominated by Mistique, who excels as both a main DPS and an off-field support. Her damage mainly comes from her powerful summons, allowing her to deal consistent damage even when she’s not on the field. Thanks to her flexible kit and high scaling, Mistique is easily one of the most valuable Umbra units in the game.
🔹 Support 1 – Cosette
The best Umbra support is Cosette, a must-build for any dark team. Her Ultimate provides strong crowd control while debuffing enemies, making them take increased Umbra Damage. On top of that, she enhances the main damage dealer’s Umbra Damage, The whole team's Skill Damage and Attack when her dupes are unlocked. Cosette’s utility makes her essential for maximizing team performance.
🔸 Alternative DPS – Caramel
Caramel is another solid choice who can perform as both a support and an on-field DPS. She has long-range attacks and an easy-to-use playstyle, making her great for players who prefer a simpler approach. If you use Mistique as your main carry, Caramel fits well as a secondary damage dealer or support.
However, if you switch their roles—using Mistique as an off-field unit and Caramel as the main DPS—the overall team performance will be better. because a fully duped Caramel deals around 10% less total DPS than T0 Mistique, and playing Mistique as an off-fielder dont make her lose any of her DPS so teamwise it's better to switch, but it's up to you and what you enjoy to play the most.
